Crescent Rose

This school year I have been working on the Crescent Rose from RWBY.
Here's what the finished product looks like.

Mid Transformation:
Fully Transformed:
Here's how I made it:
It started out with me making this basic plane.
Then Next, I made the front view of the crescent rose piece by piece using just planes
Next I solidified it all, to see how it would look later.
Later I took away the solidify and then added mirrors making sure every plane was positioned right, so it would look the the crescent rose from the top view now.
Next I ended up adding materials and nodes, to make them look better
Next I made some slight changes and subdivided everything and added environment lighting.
Last I Freestyled it, and then animated it to get it to transform, which you can see up top, and here's the final animation:

Star Wars Lightsaber

So this last quarter I noticed a lot of tutorials started to use blender randomly so I decided to look into it, and behold it was awesome, probably better than maya which I had been using before, so I decided to try making something in it which was my Lightsaber that this blog is about, so here's a quick picture of the end product.

Looks cool right? it's rather simple how this came to be first i had to model this.

Then I added the materials for the hilt and the piece at the end, making it look like an actual lightsaber hilt without the button and a little of the hilt to make it more than just black.

Then I added a material for the button and a little of the hilt to make them stand out.

Next I decided to try my hand at making the Lightsaber end making it stand out.

After that I Noticed that there was to many little speckles and the blade didn't stand out enough, so I found a way to make it really stand out.

Last I decided to make a video of the lightsaber with the camera rotating around it.

Reflection

Ecommunication Reflection

So this year in the Animation strand of Ecommunication I learned how to model an X-Wing fighter and Ragnell, Alondite, and the Falchion from Shadow Dragon in Maya. After wards I learned how to make a short video to show off my Models in After Effects.

I learned all of this by, pretty much tutorials, first I watched a Tutorial on how to model an X-Wing in Maya. After that I textured the X-wing and then made a short video of it a few times in After Effects. After that I watch tutorials on how to make swords in Maya. After that I felt I was ready to make Ragnell on my own, and one thing led to another to equal me making, Ragnell, Alondite, and Falchion.

This is important so I can figure out how to model some designs that might be used if I ever become a Video Game Designer. So I can model cool Swords and possibly Space Ships for Video Games.

I would like to say my greatest Strengths are Modeling Weapons and Space Ships in Maya and making sure I can find a way to get everything perfectly made. My greatest weaknesses are putting everything together in After Effects to show my models off since After Effects is time draining to use.

What I’m going to do with what I learned is possibly work on a personal project of two over the summer so that I can keep my modeling skills up and make sure I have a video of what I modeled to show for my hard work.

There is nothing I would change except the few months of inactivity (literally) that I had during second and third quarters.

So I’ll conclude this by saying that Modeling is a fun route of Animation that I would suggest anyone go onto because it’s awesome to see your model grow up and get finished.

Ragnell and Alondite from Path of Radiance/Radiant Dawn

for the past few weeks i've been working on making Ragnell from Path of Radiance and Radiant Dawn it was extremely fun to make and watch it grow up bit by bit as it slowly got finished, i'll admit i left out a few minor details, but when i return to it i'll get all those minor details added in.

here's a video that i made quickly to show off Ragnell

afterwards i decided that since Ragnell was made originally to counter Alondite, that i should model Alondite also, but it was kinda easy since they were almost exactly the same design wise, so it took nowhere near as long

Here's another video that i made quickly to show off Alondite

After that i decided to see what they both looked like together so i ended up having them crossing.
i used the same cool music in all of them because it just showed what they represented and were always destined to counter eachother.

here's what they both look like crossed like an X

Logo

So, i decided to make myself a personal Logo and post it here for everyone to see

it might just return someday if i'm lucky...

sorry i'm not very good at making posts but i try my best.

Star Wars Crawl

you know how at the beginning of every Star Wars Movie and some Star Wars video games they have like that intro that became to be known as the Star Wars Crawl? Well...that inspired me to see if i could make my own Star Wars Crawl...well it worked out, so i ended up making the crawl from episode 4, and here it is.

this worked out better than expected...and who knows we might just see my own actual version of this crawl in the future...

Raven X-Wing

So the time to submit works of art for Emagine has come once again
So i decided to submit my Raven X-Wing into the 3D Mechanical Modeling
but it's been awhile since the last time i posted anything onto here
So i've decided to post my new and improved 360 degree rotation of my Raven X-Wing
through this everybody can see beforehand what it looks like, a work of art like this can't be hidden.

This is my Raven X-Wing, feel free to comment if you like it or think that it needs improvement somewhere.
